So I was watching @itsjudytime vlog and Benji was making potato scallop for thanksgiving! It looks so yummy. Decided to give it a try.
I've seen video on how to make potato scallop by Aussie griller. It looks easy to make.
Ingredients that you'll need:
1. Potatoes (of course) What's potato scallop without potatoes.
2. 40g of butter
3. Salt
4. Pepper
5. 1 liter of milk
6. 1/3 of flour
7. Onions (I didn't put any onions)
It's up to you whether you want to put onions in your potato scallops.
The sauce:
Melt the butter and add the flour. Mix them well. Pour in the milk. Stir until it thickens. Add salt and pepper. Add until you're satisfied with the flavor.
While your sauce thickens, you can slice the potatoes into thin slices.
When your sauce is done, pour it into the casserole. Cover the bottom of the casserole and layer it with the slices of potatoes. Continue doing it until you ran out of potatoes and the sauce.
Wrap your casserole with aluminum foil and bake it in the oven at 250 degree Celsius. For about 35 minutes. Remove the foil and cook it for another 15 minutes. Until it's golden brown.
That's it.
I never tried it before. It's my first attempt. I would say it tastes okay. Add oregano! It tastes way better. Trust me.
My brother say it's not bad. I think he's probably hungry. That's why. I think his taste buds got problem too. Lol.
